ABOUT JOHN LACKEY

I have lived in Friday Harbor for 32 years and been in the real estate business for over 19.  Prior to real estate, my career path encompassed a diverse range of interests and experience, from commercial fishing to owning and operating a bed & breakfast here in town.  This variety has given me knowledge, understanding and great connections within this community. 

The good fortune that I enjoy from living in this gorgeous environment is something that I will never take for granted.  As beautiful as the islands are to a visitor, there are many subtle and hidden benefits that contribute to a wonderful quality of life.  This makes my job as a realtor enormously gratifying.  I view much of what I do as an extraordinary opportunity to assist people in achieving the lifestyle of their dreams. 

My career in real estate has evolved and I have developed considerable substance and skill by working within several offices in Friday Harbor.  I have worked for Dockside Realty, Re/MAX and John L. Scott, cultivating a wonderful network of peers and lasting friendships in the islands. Ultimately I chose to join the Coldwell Banker team because it provides industry-leading service not only to its clients, but also to its agents.  The core values of this company are synonymous with my own: provide exceptional quality with impeccable integrity.  The team concept has always appealed to me and the support I receive within Coldwell Banker permits me and my staff to provide an even higher level of service to my clients.

In addition to my real estate work, I enjoy supporting my community.  I served on the committee for the San Juan Island Celebrity Golf Classic for 16 years and am a former chairman of the event.  I currently participate in the Seattle International Boat Show.  2007 marked my 7th year showcasing boating related properties from throughout the islands.

In the spirit of maintaining personal balance and an optimal quality of life, I enjoy kayaking, biking, boating, skiing, tending my yard and ponds, reading, and listening to jazz.  I am also a master practitioner in the study of NLP. I consider this balance to be essential to living a full and abundant life.
